Witch Gardens - “Baby Got A Haircut”

Short, sweet, and perfect for summer, this debut Witch Gardens release has been my go-to album lately, hands down. Don’t let the name fool you, the Seattle four-piece band is all about fun, catchy, nostalgic lo-fi pop-rock. Alice Agatha Branch & Christ will be released on cassette just in time for the solstice, from none other than Brian Wood of Wonder Beard Tapes. According to the press release, “the boy-girl-girl-girl group has been called the cutest band in Seattle more times than they can count.”
“Baby Got A Haircut” is the album’s wild and infectious closer, and also one of the most wonderfully nostalgic tracks out of the bunch. The girls belt out the lyrics in unison over a fairly simple sixties-rock melody with surprisingly effective results. The whole album is barely over twenty minutes long, so you absolutely have no excuse not to listen to it at least once.
If you are interested in getting your hands on one of the 50 limited edition tapes, I strongly suggest you pre-order yours from Wonder Beard Tapes as Witch Gardens could easily become one of the hottest little indie bands on the West Coast. The cassettes are scheduled to ship on June 20.
Also, if you are not following @witchgardens on Twitter you are seriously missing out on life.
ON REPEAT FOREVER.
