Pariah Carey - “Blood for the Magi”
[HAOKAH, Deathbomb Arc, 2011]

When Wilmington blog-bro Jheri Evans isn’t busy running one of the coolest blogs in the world, an equally awesome cassette label, or making dope collage art, he produces haunted beatscapes under the smirk-worthy moniker Pariah Carey.
HAOKAH, Pariah Carey’s first cassette, is soon to be released from Deathbomb Arc on June 14. Expanding upon the style of his earlier digital releases, here he experiments with deep, long-form noise pieces with the primal force of haunted jungles and apocalyptic thunderstorms. “Blood for the Magi” plays like a frantic chase scene with an eternal sense of impending doom, while “Garden Dog” drags you straight down into the belly of the beast with a frenzy of intestinal beats and panicked synth drone.
HAOKAH is a hell of a ride that is absolutely worth checking out. You can pre-order the limited edition cassette tape from Deathbomb Arc after you stream the album from bandcamp or Soundcloud.
