Maria Minerva - “Lust For Life (She Was So)”

The young, London-based, 21st century folk-pop artist Maria Minerva has been getting a lot of attention lately, and for good reason. Now that the likes of Not Not Fun and Altered Zones have caught on to her enchanting aesthetic of lo-fi, bedroom dance-haze, people have started to notice her unassuming voice and smooth, spacey vibes.

“Lust For Life (She Was So)” is an ode to the late fashion model Gia Carangi. The song revolves around a quote from Carangi, as part of Minerva’s style includes the use of relevant spoken word samples in her work. It is her own unassuming, reverberated chorus, however, which carries the track. She has released the song for free via her personal Soundcloud, as announced on her Facebook page. Follow, follow, follow.

Maria Minerva’s Cabaret Cixous LP is due for release this June on Not Not Fun. In the mean time, watch the mindblowing video for her “California Scheming” single here.
