Pregnant - “I Wasn’t Getting Paid”
[Life Hard: I Try, Crash Symbols, March 1, 2011]

Experimental pop wizard Pregnant is releasing his fourth LP on Crash Symbols, the cassette label run by Jheri Evans (Get Off the Coast, Pariah Carey) and Dwight Pavlovic. The album is a colorful, eclectic mix of level-headed psychedelia. With pop-electronica tendencies, swirling layers of instrumentation, and flowery folk vocals, Life Hard: I Try swells with upbeat optimism to dazzle the head and get the body moving.
“I Wasn’t Getting Paid” stands out as the album’s frisky centerpiece, a post-chillwave sparkler with sunny samples and a gorgeous pop flow. Its quirky accessibility comes from its fantastic hooks and loops. Dance on the water and swing through the trees, let’s get lost in the groove.
Pre-order the cassette on the Crash Symbols bandcamp page, where you can also find a link to download the album for free.
