Ʌ - “Colonnade at Heliopolis”
Ʌ (a.k.a. “Arc”) is one of the many acts that I have been following since the inception of my blog, but for whatever reason, hasn’t found its way into a proper post. Xavier, the man behind the mysterious symbol, produces danceable, witch-house leaning darkwave with remarkable precision and style. His latest track, “Colonnade at Heliopolis,” is a smooth, synth-heavy mini epic with trademark distorted vocals, sounding almost like some sort of cross between Fever Ray and Phil Collins.
Ʌ displays progression in his songwriting abilities by maintaing his own familiar style while branching out into more ambitious territory, rather than pigeonholing himself as a witch-house act.
