Mutual Benefit - “Wishing”

I am delighted to announce that one of my favorite new experimental folk-pop artists, Mutual Benefit, will be performing three California shows with Holy Spirits and Steffaloo along with Jeans Wilder in LA and with Phantom Kicks in San Francisco. The sets of Mutual Benefit and Holy Spirits will be accompanied by motion collages from visual artist Think or Smile (Nathaniel Whitcomb). You can watch his fantastic visual interpretation of Mutual Benefit’s “Desert Island Feeling” here.
“Wishing” (posted above) is the latest recording from Mutual Benefit, and easily one of his best. Made with a broken music box, the song captures his deeply sentimental and playfully experimental songwriting at its finest. The song can be found on the sampler It’s Time For Music from his personal label Kassette Klub, and also on the secret holiday mix from record label Father/Daughter. Father/Daughter Records will be co-presenting the San Francisco show with See The Leaves, a music blog that I contribute reviews for.
If you are anywhere in California this month, I strongly urge you to come out to one of these three shows to enjoy the live music experience that these amazing artists are bringing us.
